Dayta Typeface

The purpose of this project was to create a typeface and develop a content-rich, electronic (pdf) specimen to
persuade the recipient to ultimately use my typeface. With consideration given to the audience—students, designers, art directors or other design-related professionals conversant in basic typography and design.
I used Fonstruct® to create my typeface.

Dayta was inspired by my love of information graphics and data visualization. For that reason I decided that I wanted to create a thin, sans-serif typeface that could be used with data display. I wanted the typeface to embody these three characteristics: Adventurous, "Infotastic", and Resolute.

To display the typeface specimen I created a series of different locations on earth and pulled actual factual data to implement into each slide. This allowed me to enrich the experience of the viewer and reinforce the use of my typeface.
